Want to find out more about Autism from professionals and peers? or looking for a fun Autism friendly social space? Take a look at our new Mind the Gap offers below.

Online Information & Learning Sessions

Our Online Information & Learning Session is directed to young people who have got a diagnosis of Autism aged 14 to 18 years. The session will run quarterly for 1.5h on a Monday afternoon. The session will be delivered by a member of the Targeted Health Outreach Team, an Educational Mental Health Practitioner and an Autistic Young Person. Please see the flyer HERE!

This session is an introduction to a series of topics that Autistic young people have told us they are interested in hearing about, including:

  1. Understanding Diagnosis

  2. Relationships

  3. School Adaptations

  4. Sleep

  5. Mental Health

The session will lightly touch on all these topics and provide a series of links and trusted information sources where young people can find out more information at their own pace. To attend, young people can book their spot directly through the EventBrite HERE!

Drop-in Group

Our Mind the Gap Monthly Drop-in Group is a new offer for young people aged 12 to 18 years. The group will be taking place every second Thursday of the month at Hackney Ark and it will be a space for young people to get together and do fun activities, play games, engage with other young people and learn more about neurodiversity in a safe and supported environment. Please see the flyer HERE!

How to access the group?

Parents/carers and young people over the age of 16 will be able to self-refer by emailing us on huh-tr.mindthegap@nhs.net. After confirming a few details, they will receive a call from one of our facilitators to gather more information, ascertain that the offer is suitable for the young person and answer any questions they might have.
