Wellbeing & Mental Health in Schools
What is WAMHS?
WAMHS aims to improve mental health and wellbeing across schools, colleges, and other education settings in City & Hackney. The service works with the whole school community to build social, emotional, and academic resilience in students and staff. A mental health professional (CAMHS worker) and a skilled education professional are embedded within the school to support action plans and enhance the school’s mental health provision.
Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) support the WAMHS initiative by providing direct interventions to students and parents, as well as supporting a whole-school approach. They offer focused, evidence-based support, primarily through groups, for young people and their parents/carers experiencing mild to moderate emotional wellbeing difficulties that can be managed in a school setting.
How to access the service?
